This is a salad belonging to the Asteraceae family, with large, curved leaves, of a somewhat intense red colour and a sweet yet slightly bitter taste. History tells us that radicchio is a vegetable with oriental origins, which was introduced into the territories of the Republic of Venice towards the end of the 15th century and initially cultivated in the province of Treviso.
A crispy vegetable that is rich in fibre, vitamins, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium, radicchio is full of antioxidant and anti-radical, diuretic and purifying properties.
